Richard's Reflections (March 2025)

Is there something you are looking forward to? Something that is coming up, a holiday, an event? Maybe it is simply looking forward to better weather! We too are looking forward as a church. Not just to better weather, but to what God will do in the future. We are planning a Vision Day in May; watch this space for more details when we have them.

One of the things that we really do need to concentrate on is Prayer. This is a vital part of anything that we plan to do in the future. In Proverbs 16 v 9 we read these words:

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.

And so, I want to encourage you all to pray. As we look forward to the future, we need to ask God to lead and guide us, remembering that as we make plans for the church, he will

establish our steps.

We can pray on our own. We can talk to God any time we like, and he will listen to us. We can do it in our homes, we can do it as we are out and about. We can even do it as we are driving (although I would not recommend closing your eyes!). You can even pray out loud in the car – people won’t think you are strange; they will just assume you are on a hands-free call!

Ask God that as we make plans, he will indeed direct our steps We can also pray together. We meet every Thursday afternoon in the school room. We will be doing a special Lent series looking at some of the Psalms in the Bible. Each week, there

will be space for us to bring our own prayers to the Lord.

We can be certain that when we pray, God will hear and answer. More on that in a future reflection. But whether on your own or with others, please pray.

Jesus, by whom we come to God-

the Life, the Truth, the Way-

the humble path of prayer you trod:

Lord, teach us how to pray.

Encouraging words for us too as we seek God for his plans and purposes for us as a church.

Love in Jesus, Richard
